Education Abroad

Study Abroad

USciences and New York University’s (NYU) Study Abroad Program have an articulation agreement that enables eligible USciences students to study at NYU campuses in Asia, Africa, Europe, and South America for a semester. Courses are treated as USciences courses, and both credits and grades appear on the student’s USciences transcript.

Short-Term Education Abroad Programs

Each year various academic departments organize Short-Term Education Abroad Programs. Travel Study Courses allow students to earn USciences credits in an accelerated format abroad. Study Tour Courses combine a traditional on-campus course with a short period of travel (generally less than two weeks) and are designed to provide students with firsthand experience of the subject they are studying. Although the list of courses changes each year, in recent years students have traveled to China, England, France, Japan, Poland, Puerto Rico, and the American Southwest.

Courses are treated as USciences courses, and both credits and grades appear on the student’s USciences transcript. Students do not pay additional tuition unless they take private lessons.

ROTC Program (Army)

  ^ TOP

All students at the University are eligible to participate in the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program through a cooperative arrangement with Drexel University. The program is normally completed in eight semesters (eight courses) or, with some adjustments, in a shorter time period to qualify for a commission by graduation. Program acceptance and ROTC scholarship eligibility may vary, depending on a student’s academic performance, degree choice, and the personnel needs of the military branch.

ROTC Program (Air Force)

  ^ TOP

All students at the University are eligible to participate in the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) through a cross-town agreement with Saint Joseph’s University and the United States Air Force. This agreement allows students to take AFROTC classes at Saint Joseph’s University. The AFROTC program enables college students to earn a commission as an Air Force officer while concurrently satisfying requirements for his/her baccalaureate degree. Program acceptance and ROTC scholarship eligibility may vary, depending on a student’s academic performance, degree choice, and the personnel needs of the military branch.
